Question : Problem: Powerchute Personal Edition does not shut down my system after running on UPS

Hello Xperts,

  I purchased a APC UPS 1500 and it comes with its powerchute software. It suppose to power off the computer when there is a power outage. I am testing this and its not working. Under the configuration I have set the runtime so that if the ups takes over the system is to shut down after 5 minutes of being on the UPS " this is for testing only" but it does nothing. After I test successful I will set the system to shut down when there is 8 minutes left on the UPS.

Make sure the UPS hardware is recognized in Windoes:

Make sure the Native Shutdown Support is enabled and configured:

Typically this occurs because either the hardware (UPS) did not install properly, or the software is not set up properly.  If the above does not help resolve the issue, talk to APC's techs.
