Question : Problem: Fn Key on Laptop

Here is an interesting question that I will bet has an easy answer.

I have a Dell Latitude Laptop running Win2000 that has a Fn Key that has decided to go on strike.  All keys work normally on the keyboard,  F1 brings up help, F3 brings up searches.   The Fn Key does not work in any scenario or with any key.  I have popped the key off to check for damages or sticky substances but none were present.  Outside of circutry failure I can't see any physical damage.  I was going to claim the keyboard dead and get a replacement,  but I have a sneaky suspicion that it is a software problem and not a hardware.  If anyone has some advice or a similar situation they have had that would be great.

Boot with a DOS boot disk if it still dont work at command line Its safe to say youve got a hardware problem
