Question : Problem: PC Problem : PC Turns off a second after turning on.

Hi, I built my PC about 16 months ago:

ASUS Asustek M2N-SLI Deluxe mobo,
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5800+, dual core, socket AM2,
4 gig Corsair XMS2  DDR2 memory
Gygabite 6600GT,
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum,
3 x seagate HD's (2xSATA),
Lian Li Case
Vista Home Premium

I reciently shifted between rooms in my house and after plugging everything back in I discovered that my computer didn't want to turn on for more than a second or so (usually).

I've tried removing the memory, soundcard and video card and I'm still getting the same result.

The mobo power light is on, and my keyboard light is on. The cpu fan spins on start.

Once the PC actually got as far as starting my screen but came up with "boot disc failure" then turned off again almost instantly.

On a few other occasions (including when both sata drives were unplugged) it wouldn't turn on at all.

So I'm thinking it's either the PSU, the Mobo or the CPU but I don't really have any replacement parts or any way I can think to test these parts.

I hadn't really had any problems with the build before now.

Do you think these symptoms point to anything in particular? or is there anywhere you think I should start with this problem?

Thanks for your help,
Brian

Answer : Problem: PC Problem : PC Turns off a second after turning on.

did you move it back to the prior location where it used to located and try?

it may be a power issue

also did you try connecting it directly to the wall without any power stirps or surge protectors?
