Question : Problem: How to use it as an modem to connect to another modem

I have this USB card for internet access.  I have another computer that will only accept a connection (software issue - I am stuck with the program) thru a plain old telephone modem connection.  I see that the VZAccess software loaded a driver that appears to treat this as a modem.  I try to dial a number using it and it does not work.  Do I need to connect to the internet first?  Documentation is not very good on this.

Answer : Problem: How to use it as an modem to connect to another modem

When VZAccess installs a "modem", this can be used for internet access through Verizon, but not to normal telephone numbers.

You can use the Verizon "modem" to get on the Internet bypassing the Verizon software.  You use a phone number of #777, a username of [email protected] (replace 8885551212 with YOUR card's 10 digit mobile number) and a password of "vzw".

Bypassing the Verizon software doesn't change the way the connection works in any way.  The Verizon VZAccess software simply does the same thing for you automatically if you use it to connect to the Internet.
