Question : Problem: Restore a full backup of Oracle E-Business
Scenario: Our Oracle e-biz environment is housed on 2 servers, a DB/admin server and a web server. The environment is shutdown nightly and fully backed up. I would like to recreate the environment using that backup. The OS is RHEL 4.0.
What was done: I built 2 new Linux servers to match production exactly, i.e. in file system structure. Took the two servers off the network and put them on their own segment. Changed the IP addresses and hostnames to match production. Updated the hosts files on both servers. Setup the environment files then started all services. apps and db started successfully on both nodes. When i put my system onto the isolated network and attempted to connect to the application using the url, i obtained an HTTP 404 error.
