Question : Problem: VNC not accepting connections.

I just installed VNC on XP SP2 and it say's "not accepting connections".  Is there something I need to set in XP?

Answer : Problem: VNC not accepting connections.

taborrq:
1. I assume you installed the VNC client AND the server.
2. when you installed it you choose the password the server will answer to.
3. you have to open the 5900 port in the Windows Firewall (Right click over your connection icon, then choose Status, Properties, Advanced, Settings, Exceptions, Add program: Locate VNC, Add port: 5800 OKOKOK, etc.)

* Usually, windows ask you the first time the program runs if you will block it or not.

4. If your computer is behind a router you have to forward the port 5900 to the IP number of your computer.
