Question : Problem: RAM

I am going to be purchasing a Vista ready graphics card, and for the maximum performance it requires me to have at least 1gb of system RAM.

When i look at my settings, it says i have 0.99gb ram even though i bought a 1gb from crucial.

Will this affect the card in anyway or will i still get the maximum performance.

Thanks.

Answer : Problem: RAM

Windows Vista will run on a system with 512 Mb of RAM (I've done it.). For optimal performance, you'll want more no matter what.

If you're asking if it'll work, the answer is yes.
If you're asking if it'll be "optimal" the answer is "Maybe, but most likely not."
Microsoft doesn't tell you that you'll want more RAM if you plan on installing anything.

If you truly require it, I'd recommend getting another GB of RAM.

If you can get by with what you have, you could tweak your Vista install to not use as much in the resources department.

Hope this helps!
