Question : Problem: I can't get the Realtek AC'97 Audio drivers to install.

I downloaded the drivers for the onboard devices for my friend's e-machine.  The audio driver that was included is the Realtek AC'97 Audio driver.  Whenever I install it it crashes out halfway through.  If I report the error to Microsoft it comes back as a known issue with no known fix.  I've looked all over message boards and haven't found anything.

I tried disabling the audio in the bios, and the software will fully install.  But then when I enable the audio on the board again it just boots up and immediately reboots over and over again.  Please help!

can you test with another sound card? the on-board one just may be bad
