How can I tell which type of video card(s) will be compatible with my Dimension 4500?

Answer : Problem: video card compatibility

It will physically fit  but the slot specification does not have the bandwisth to support 8x transfers.  However, many 8x cards are backwards compatible although not all.
Look for 8x/4x/2x
