Question : Problem: Connect W98 PC Parallel Port to USB2.0 Flash Drive

We have an older Windows-98 PC with a parallel port but no USB port.  Before the disk dies, we would like to save files to a USB2.0 flash drive.  Would some type of adapter work?  It would likely have to connect to the parallel port on one end and to the flash drive on the other ... in such a way that we could send files over the connection.  I would appreciate it if you could advise us.

Chances are that you won't find anything that would work like this.  An alternative would be to get a floppy disk-to-MMC card adapter, such as this one (http://cgi.ebay.com/5-x-FLOPPY-Disk-for-Multimedia-Card-MMC-card_W0QQitemZ170139074444QQihZ007QQcategoryZ50526QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem)

You would be better off getting a USB PCI card. (http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=usb+pci)  It would be cheaper and would be usable in another computer, if you want.
