Question : Problem: Booting to CD in VMWare
|
|
I'm using VMWare Fusion on a MAC book and I am trying to install XP. My XP is bootable; if I place it in the CD drive of a Windows machine the CD spins up and the Menu screen pops up - what do you to to do... etc.
I have gotten into the BIOS of the virtual machine and set the boot order to have the CD be first. Still no go.

Hey Mike,
Ive never used vmware on a MAC, so this may be a waste of space on your post, but on a Windows or Linux box, before you boot the machine, you right click on it and choose settings. from there choose "CD-ROM", and then choose "Connection", "Use Physical Drive", "Host". Then choose OK, OK and start the machine. it should then boot to your CD-ROM.
sorry if this isnt how it goes on a MAC, ive got my fingers crossed that it is...
