Question : Problem: rtvscan is using 47% of the CPU and run more than 3 hours

Rtvscan.exe is using 47% of the CPU. It is running on a Dell Inspiron 700m. I am using Symantec AntiVirus version 10.1.5.5000. The process is slowing my machine

Answer : Problem: rtvscan is using 47% of the CPU and run more than 3 hours

Uninstall and reinstall Norton corperate 10
that usually solves this issue. also ensure that no other antivirus is installed on the system as that can cause the issue as well
