Question : Problem: APC UPS Software Network Managed

I am looking for UPS software that is capable of monitoring and controlling servers over the network vs. usb/serial cables.  I have a few Windows 2003 severs running as guests within VMware Server that cannot connect with the APC Power Chute software since there is not way to physically connect the USB/Serial Cable.

The problem with Belkin is that SOME units still come with Bulldog Plus software (which also has a Master/Slave network configuration) and SOME units come with the new APMS v2.2 software.   EITHER will do what you want ==> but the two software packages are not compatible.

That's really not a problem => odds are you'll only use one set of PC's with a particular unit;  but you have to remember to install the correct software if you buy more than one unit and get different packages.
