Question : Problem: Audio Problem: DELL INSPIRON 1100 Sigmatel C-Major Audio

I have a Dell Inspiron 1100, where the harddrive broke down. I don't have the cd's from dell anymore, so I installed a XP Professional. I made all security updates and downloaded all driver from dell's support page. Everything is fine exept the Sigmatel C-Major Audio device. Even with the driver from dell I get the yellow circle with the exclamation mark and the code 39 (There is no driver or the driver is corrupt).

Before the breakdown was the OS XP Home and there were no problems.

I read somewhere I have to disconnect the modem. I did this already and disabled the Modem in the hardware manager. I am still facing the same problems.

The solution was to install the sound driver first. If you install the other drivers first, there is some kind of incompatibility. Can't say why.
I found the same solution on a other website.
