Question : Problem: My audio device disappeared

When I tried to play a media file this m orning, I had no sound. When I went to control panel to look at my sound properties it said under the audio tab- it said no audio device. The only software update I know of installing recently was a Java update. I tried restoring to a known good date and no help.
