Question : Problem: PC will not boot past initial Compaq logo

I have a Compaq Presario SR1215CL that has not been turned for for over a year. When I powered it on today, it would not boot past the initial Compaq logo. It does not respond to any keys to enter the BOIS setup or select boot drive.

The Compaq logo sits there laughing at me.

Disconnect all USB and printer connections and network connections.  Disconnect PS/2 connections and reconnect.  Disconnect all speakers and microphones.  Check you have keyboard in correct hole.  Check you have mouse in correct hole.

Try and reboot.  Can you get into BIOS?

No joy.  Open up computer and disconnect hard drives and CDROM drives.

Try and reboot.  Can you get into BIOS?
