Question : Problem: Wondering what kind of motherboard takes this ram
|
|
hello
We ordered some RAM a while ago for a server but we were sent a stick of Kingston kvr667d2d4f5/2gi ram. I have no idea what kind of motherboard takes this ram but it has different pins to normal DDR2 ram.
So just wondering - what kind of ram is this exactly??

What you have is a fully buffered DIMM. What motherboard are you using? If it takes standard, unbuffered DDR2 it will have a different pinout than a FBDIMM.
There are 3 types of DDR2: unbuffered; registered; and fully buffered => and the key is in a slightly different place for each.
