Question : Problem: clock of my PC goes ahead
|
|
Hello Experts, the clock of my PC has been going ahead for several days now. The difference to the actual time is gettng bigger and bigger. It was 4 hours first, then 6 hours etc. on August 22. Meanwhile now, on August 28, it is 17 hours and 20 minutes.
I wonder whether anything is seriously wrong with my computer or whether I may just set it right again and how to do this.
The problem does not seem to lie with the operating system, since I have two operating systems on the same computer, i.e. Windows XP and Linux, and on both the time started to go ahead at the same time.

it is normally due to the mobo/ cpu; could be a bad RTC chip = real time clock. try setting the date and time in the bios, and check the bios battery; shouyld read 3 V; or repalce it
