Question : Problem: Custom made SATA power cable

I understand that a proper SATA power cable consists of 5 wires. When comparing with the traditional 4 pins molex, proper SATA cable just has little differences with the power lane position among 2 blacks (GND), 1 yellow (12V) and 1 red (5V), plus an extra orange wire supplying 3.3V.

I want to custom make a SATA power cable for my SATA HDDs, can I just ignore the fifth (orange) wire? Any harm to the HDDs?

Besides, what SATA components would need the orange power wire supplying 3.3V? (as far as I know, most HDDs need 5V).

Please advise.
