Question : Problem: How to set up shared disk space on MD3000i
Hi, I have iSCSI storage MD 3000i from DELL. My problem is that I am unable to create a functional shared space. Every time I create a shared space on that storage (shared space between Blade 1 (B1) and Blade 2 (B2)) i think the system volume information is written from each blade to that shared disk so the shared space isnt working correctly. The point is, when I do som change in shared space from B1 this change won't appear on the same shared space on server B2.
I tried to connect hosts through every option in MD 3000i
- windows 2008 non - cluster
- windows 2008 cluster
- windows single cluster
Is there a way to create shared space on md 3000 correctly ? (i am using Windows 2008 enterprise edition).
Are there any needs to be done in case of mounting the disk array_?
Do I have to use qourum to create shared space_? Not cluster on first layer. I need only to create shared space for two servers.
Answer : Problem: How to set up shared disk space on MD3000i
To share a physical disk between two servers you need to use a cluster.
