Question : Problem: PC hangs at the BIOS 'press DEL to enter setup'

Hello Experts,

I have a bit of an issue with my new PC, this has been happening for a few days now and it is bugging the heck out of me. I have had the PC about 3 months and this is a new problem. The motherboard is an ASUS A8N Premium board and if I power the machine off all is well, but every time I reset/restart "warm boot" the PC it just hangs with the ASUS image up and the 'press DEL to enter setup' message. pressing DEL does nothing at this point.

Under normal circumstances I would send the PC back but I am job hunting at the moment and it is absolutely imperitive that the PC is running, which it does in the main apart from this new issue which is most annoying.

I have already tried setting the BIOS back to the default settings, this has had no effect.

Any smart ideas out there?

Answer : Problem: PC hangs at the BIOS 'press DEL to enter setup'

If not a CMOS battery, it seems to be BIOS-related: "it just hangs with the ASUS image up and the 'press DEL to enter setup' message. pressing DEL does nothing at this point".  It is very odd that it does not respond to a keypress at this point; perhaps a BIOS reset might help.
