Question : Problem: Watch HDTV using Hardware Acceleration

Hi All,

I have this graphics card;

Shaphire HD 2600 PRO (AGP)

I want to make full use of the AVIVO hardware accelerations so i can play HDTV on my 2.4Ghz PC.

Having done some reading it looks like i need to enable the AVIVO Hardware Acceleration via a compatitle program.  PowerDVD has the option, but when i check the option nothing happens and when i go back into the option it's unchecked.


There should be several free alternatives, which i'd prefer to use.


Any thoughts on how i get HDTV working on my PC?

May be you could try VLCMedia player before trying anyother codecs. VLC uses its internal codecs and will not interfere with the system codecs. So once we check if VLCmedia player works then you can try combination of different codecs.
