Question : Problem: computer does not recognise full capacity of hard disk

Hi,

I am using a sony notebook VGN-S28GP. I just changed the 2.5" IDE ATA/100 5400rpm hard disk from 60 to 160GB. However the system is showing 128GB only. My computer has win xp service pack 3 installed. Please advise on how to my comp detect the remaining disk space. Thanks.

Answer : Problem: computer does not recognise full capacity of hard disk

Check to see if the laptop has the latest BIOS available, and check with Sony to learn if there are any drives brands or models which that laptop might not support.

(All this is assuming that you meant the laptop CMOS is only showing 128GB, and not just Windows...)
