Question : Problem: Seagate USB 2.0 200GB external hard drive is not showing as extra drive in windows XP Prof operating system computer.

Hello,

I have Seagate USB 2.0 200GB external hard drive. I tried to access that hard drive from the USB port of computer. It is not displaying in "My Computer". But it is showing in  Control panel ->Administartive tools->Computer Management->Disk Management.
How can i see the external hard drive in "My computer". Is there any need to change jumper settings?. (Current jumper setting is Master).
Please help me in this issue.

Thanks in advance

Is it possible that the drive letter the usb drive wants is already in use?

Right click my computer - choose manage. then drill down to disk management, and see if the drive is visible there, you might need to assign a drive letter to it.

Also, is this a drive that has worked before or a first time use?  If it was used with a Macintosh before, it would have a different filesystem, which would also do what you are describing.
