Question : Problem: HD compatability

I have a compaq  presario 2100 notebook with a bad HD...( Toshiba MK-4021-GAS )

Are all MK-xxxx-GAS drives compatible?

What is the difference in the MK-xxxx-GAX models, are they compatible? Toshiba's web site doesn't seem to clarify.

The faster ones - GAX & GSX - will work too and enhance performance slightly.
