Question : Problem: HP LaserJet M2727nf MFP: NO NETWORK ACCESS TO SCANNED FILES
|
|
Dear all, I have the following Hp caused problem:
SITUATION * Pucrhase of " HP LaserJet M2727nf MFP" * Connection via USB cable to a PC, which is part of local Network * Configuration via PC of the HP scan module: Scan automatically to .pdf, to a specified local folder (located in the PC itself) * Configuration of the Permission rights of the folder (both Sharing&Permission are set: Full Access for Everyone)
PROBLEM * When use the function on the HP MFP > SCAN TO PC, the newl created file has access permissions ONLY for the user of the connected PC (repeat: USB connection). * The new files created by the HP scanner do not inherit the permissions of the folder they are directed to!!!
NOTES * Any user from the local network can access /read-write etc/ any random file, put in the shared folder named eg MY SCANS

Ok, close this POST.
The problem was solved kind of.
The only one who had acccess to the newly created files was the OWNER (User logged-in to the PC) and Local PC Administrators. I just added to the local "ADMIN' Group, the Network Users I wanted to access the shared folder and take the scanned files.
Surely it's not an elegant and clear solution but it works, I give up messing with HP<>MS protocols.
Cheers.
