Question : Problem: Laptop Screen Is Dim but Okay in Safe Mode

I am working on my neighbor's laptop, It is an older one made by NCS I believe. It is hard to tell, because case is pretty scratched up. Anyway, I have installed XP Pro on it, and it ran fine until Windows updated the video driver. Now when it boots, the screen is very dim, to the point i cannot see it hardly except at odd angles. But when i boot in safe mode, the screen is displaying at regular brightness. I uninstall the display driver, but windows just finds it again and reinstalls it. What can I do?

Answer : Problem: Laptop Screen Is Dim but Okay in Safe Mode

You need to delete the install files- see add/remove programs.

Also, you may need to go back to a previous restore point.

I hope this helps !
