Question : Problem: How do I cut and paste a quote using puTTY?

I am having problems pasting into a puTTY window.  I have a search string I have been using for years (rather than typing, I have it on a cut and paste cheat sheet).  The string I have been using is as follows:

find . -type f -exec grep "XXXXX" {} \; -print    //replacing XXXXX with some text

When I was using Reflections, I had no problems, but in my current situation, I am trying to do it without buying software.  When I try to paste that into my terminal window, the quotes show as periods and that ruins the command.  I am connecting to an MPE environment running in a Neartek shell on a Solaris 9 system.  Terminal is set to VT-100+ in puTTY, but I am not sure what else to modify.

Google is not finding my answer the way I am asking it, so hopefully someone recognizes the situation.

Where are you copying tis string from? Ist it in a MS Word or Star Office document?
Make sure you have the correct quotes in that file. To verify, please out the string
into Notepad and try copying from there.
I have no problems copying and pasting any type of strings with putty ;-)
