Question : Problem: Is this memory compatible with my PC?
|
|
Hi there,
I was hoping someone might be able to tell me if I have purchased the correct memory for my PC. I went to Crucial Memoy and did a system scan and this is the memory it stated I needed:

I purchased the following memory off ebay and was wondering someone can confirm if I have purchased the correct memory before I install it:

Many thanks in advance

The module you purchased on e-bay is a high-density (256 x 4) module. The Crucial module appears to be a low-density module (128 x 64, which is 128 x 8 x 8 chips). Some systems can use both low and high density modules; but a LOT cannot. It won't hurt anything to install the module --> if it's the wrong density you'll either see NO memory, or you'll see 1/2 of the module size (in this case you it would look like a 512mb module).
