Question : Problem: VOIP - Cable requirements?

The company I am working for is planning to implement VOIP in the near future and I would like to know what cable specification is required?  Our current cabling was installed in 1995 and conforms to Cat5 standards not CAT5e, it that sufficient to run VOIP?

Many thanks for you help.

Answer : Problem: VOIP - Cable requirements?

Cat5 cable is perfectly sufficient to run VoIP.
You may need to upgrade your network switches as you really want ones which support QOS (Quality Of Service) so if the network becomes busy they drop normal network traffic and none of the voip traffic. Normal traffic comes very well if odd packets get dropped but voip performs very badly in such situations.
