Question : Problem: VNC connects, displays only a blank screen
I am replacing a Dell Latitude D600 with a newer Toshiba laptop, used for remote access into the office. I use the Linksys QuickVPN client and VNC viewer. It has been working flawlessly for over a year opn the Dell. I configured the applications on the Toshiba exactly as they are configured on the Dell, yet when I connect to the machine at work with the VNC host on it, all I get on the remote end is a blank screen. I had someone at the office end and they tell me that I am controlling the mouse, yet I get nothing on the screen at my end. Any thoughts?

I've occasionally met this symptom on slower connections when the colour option is set to high. Have you tried only 8-bit colour mode for the VNC session (available on the options of the VNC client)?
