Question : Problem: Cannot PING behind Cisco VPN

I am on an Windows XP SP2 system and I am connecting to a network via a Cisco VPN connection, using the Cisco client software, and the connection establishes without any trouble.

Once connected, I cannot ping anything on the respective subnet - not the firewall, the server, etc.

There are multiple users that are connected to this network via the same connection type, using the same firewall for authentication.

My trouble is that I cannot identify what is wrong on this particular machine that would prevent it from connecting to the network resources across this VPN connection (Exchange server, shared drives, etc.)

FYI - I did modify the hosts file to allow recognition of actual names vs. simply the IP Address.  I.E. 172.17.2.XXX  -  server01

Answer : Problem: Cannot PING behind Cisco VPN

On that machine follow this;

1. Uninstall VPN Client.
2. Open a command prompt and execute it in the order;

netsh int ip reset reset.log
netsh winsock reset

and REBOOT.

3. Install the VPN Client and load the profile (.pcf). Then try connecting again.

Cheers,
Rajesh
