Question : Problem: Docking Stations

Hello Experts,

I have to setup a docking station at work but i don't know how, i wonder if someone of you can advise how to proceed with this?

I have read about it on the web and that is the very reason why my boss wants to have it installed, ie: to let him simultaneously use the desktop model computers with the portability of notebook computers(laptops).

I would be glad If you could please advise whether the software/hardware config for PC and laptop and any other information which you think is necessary.

Thanks in advance

Regards
S

Answer : Problem: Docking Stations

Many laptop manufacturers create docking stations, or port replicators, for many of their models. So you have to buy one that goes with the particular laptop you are using. The docking station sits at the desktop and has ports for keyboard, mouse and monitor as well as network and USB and sometimes other ports.  The user brings in the laptop and plugs it into the docking station via some proprietary port and the user then has the desktop experience using the laptop.
