Question : Problem: Vaio keeps overheatng and locking up

I have a sony vaio pcg-grt240g laptop running windows home sp2. Lately, the fan inside has been running constantly and the base has been getting extremely warm, Almost hot, and i'm not sure what to do. Can anyone help?

Answer : Problem: Vaio keeps overheatng and locking up

I suggest you use some compressed air to clean out the ventilation slots.  If that doesn't work, you may need to open it up, remove the cpu heatsink, scrape off the old thermal paste, apply new paste, and reseat the heatsink.
