Question : Problem: Unknown NTBackup error
We normally use Backup Exec to back up our server. For the last two weeks it has been failing to back up the "Shadow Copy Components", with a 0x8004230c volume not supported for snapshot error. The system is a domain controller, fully service packed and patched, and the backup worked fine before.
I have tried disabling all the BE services and simply using ntbackup to back up the system state. It fails with the same error, presumably because BE uses the Microsoft VSS. I've checked the vssadmin writer list which shows no errors, and patched it with the latest hotfix (940349). There seems to be little information about this on web or from Microsoft. Most stuff relates to system restore in XP/Vista.
Anyone got any clue how to fix this?
Thanks
