Question : Problem: Twain error with Canoscan 500F

I was trying to use my scanner today but started getting Twain error coming up, suggesting that my scanner was not connected. I reinstalled the device drivers, tried different USB ports. I then did a stupid thing and deleted my twain.dll folders and tried to reinstall the device drivers. Now the softtware will not let me reinstall my device driver. After I did this I also realised that my system restore was switched off and has been for the last few months. Help!

Answer : Problem: Twain error with Canoscan 500F

>>  getting Twain error coming up, suggesting that my scanner was not connected   <<   maybe your scanner died, this would explain also why it won't let you install the driver.  Test it on another PC to be sure. (could be a bad cable too --> try another one)
