Question : Problem: Symantec Ghost Issue

When restoring my Windows XP Pro SP2 system using Symantec Ghost 12, I receive the following error about half way through the restore:

Error E7D1001E: Unable to read from file. Error 0000001 incorrect function.

Answer : Problem: Symantec Ghost Issue

This may or may not help, but there has been a LiveUpdate to Ghost 12 since the initial CD was released.  Of course you have to have it installed on a running system, but run LiveUpdate and update Ghost 12 and then create/burn another updated CD for the restore.

Where is your recovery point (backup image) located?  On an external usb2 drive?  If so, could be an issue with the usb2 enclosure.

See if you can verify the image, by booting from the Ghost 12 cd.  I forget exactly which menu has verify but see if it verifies.
