Question : Problem: DLT V4 not working with NTBackup?
I am in the process of trying to get a new backup device working for a client. However, it is not going well :)
I have installed the Quantum DLT V4 tape drive, which is new with 6 new tapes to choose from. When I go to NTBackup and try to run a quick dirty test backup, I get, no free media found.
Under device manager the tape drive shows as properly installed, but inside NTBackup, I cannot find a selection for the drive. I went into the Management console and found the drive under Media pool/unrecognized. I selected the loaded tape and sent it to the free pool. So now if I go to to Media pool/free I will find the tape under DLT. But if I select DLT in NTBackup I get the same no free media of this type available message.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Randy
