Question : Problem: Recommended temperature, relative humidity & alert threshold level for a datacentre

What's the recommended temperature (in Celsius) & Relative Humidity (in %)
for a datacentre/computer centre hosting servers?

& at what temperature & Relative Humidity we should be alerted?

I thought the recommended temperature is about 19 Celcius & when it reaches
23 Celsius, the datacentre/operations people should be alerted via SMS.

What's the best/general practice?

Recently we have a few aircon/Crau & chiller failures & the standby unit fails
to take over.  I'm thinking that pending the resolution of this problem, we turn on
both units of Crau & chiller so that if one fails, the other will continue to support
/operate.  Will there be any issue with this other than the temperature is too cold
(or will there be condensation problems - I heard this from one of the vendor but
not sure what he meant by "condensation problem")

Answer : Problem: Recommended temperature, relative humidity & alert threshold level for a datacentre

In a very cold environment some power supplies become faulty specially when it become old, so replacing them is good idea.
