Question : Problem: AMD Athlon XP 2600+, Asus A7V600-X and DDR400 RAM

Am I doing anything obviously wrong?

I'm installing a Thoroughbred Athlon XP 2600+ (AXDA2600DKV3D) CPU in the Asus A7V600-X, along with 256MB of DDR400 RAM. The CPU is on the supported list for this mainboard. I'm using the following settings:

Motherboard clock frequency 166MHz
Clock multiplier 12.5, giving CPU frequency 2083MHz
Memory speed (presumably the BIOS means FSB speed here) set to 333MHz to accomodate the CPU's FSB speed

The m/b won't boot with these settings and instead defaults to the lowest possible CPU speed, recognising the CPU as a Duron (!!!) 833MHz.

A Barton CPU (AXDA2600DKV4D) is recognised fine.

Is there anything wrong in my settings?
