Question : Problem: NVidia Vista Network Controller Unidentified Network
I have just purchased several new Dell XPS 630s. They all have an NVidia Network Controllers in them. In setting up the first one I discovered that it had trouble indentifying the network to which it was attached. I did also discover that if I unplugged my router and cable modem, it would discover it. Upon googling for this Unidentified Network with NVidia NIC I found many postings alluding to this same problem. Most told me to go to the MS Vista download board and download the Microsoft version of this driver. I have tried that I cannot find this driver. Can anyone provide an exact link to this driver? One posting even talk about adding a registry setting. If anyone knows the complete solution to get these Dell computers running Vista to see the network please let me know.
Answer : Problem: NVidia Vista Network Controller Unidentified Network
Thanks for your help. I had found this driver. The problem was I had to turn OFF the auto-negotiation for the NIC speed. I set it to 100mbs Half-Duplex and now it is fine. Why couldn't Dell tell me this?
