Question : Problem: network connection disabled

We have a new Acer laptop running Vista Home, as part of our small biz workgroup.  all other machines in the workgroup are XP, except a Samba/Linux file server.
For some reason, the laptop's internal lan card/ (hard wired) network connection occasionally gets set to "disabled" status.  The user claims she does nothing, yet we need to go to network connections and re-enable it.  Why would this be happening?  There is a wireless LAN as well, which defaults to being on, but I don't see why that would have an effect.

Answer : Problem: network connection disabled

I have seen this issue with Acer laptops some of our sales staff use, and can confirm that this can be an issue that occurs independently of user action.

Check the Acer ePowerManagment application.  You should select a different profile.  If you wish to use the Windows-based Power Management console, then you will have to remove the Acer ePowerManagement software.
