Question : Problem: My lap top screen is not bright enough or clear enough

Hi,

I have a new DELL XPS laptop and the notebook screen is nowhere near as good for clearness as my old laptop. The screen seems slighly blurred and compared to my desktop screen the screen is a lot more difficult to read.

I have the FN and bightness set to the highest and although it improves the screen it's not what I expected with a new expensive laptop
The spec is
LCD
15.4" Widescreen™ WXGA (1280x800) TFT Display (220nits) with TrueLife™

Is there a setting somewere I can improve the resolution to make it more sharp, or will it need to be returned to DELL I have it a month now and I'm sure its not going to get better.

Thanks

OK, I know this is going to sounds completely ridiculous so don't take offense, BUT I have to ask just because it sounds so strange the way you describe the look.  There isn't still a factory screen protector over the LCD screen is there?  Sometimes they are really thin and go edge to edge and are hard to notice.
