Question : Problem: Acer Aspire 3003LCi won't Power Up

Hi Guys,

I'm working on an Acer Aspire 3003LCi that I took in for a DC Jack Replacement.  This unit has a simple disassembly (49 screws) to the bare Motherboard, and the DC Jack Replacement seemed to go perfectly fine.  I Then put the unit back together and I have nothing but a battery charge light.  I'm getting 19.5vdc across the board and the battery appears to be charging.  Battery check is positive, showing 16.5vdc.

Problem is the board won't fire.  No Leds(except battery charge indicator). No LEDs on the power button circuit board and no startup from the battery.  Tried the memory sticks in every configuration possible. Checked the power button circuit on another Acer and it worked fine, so it's not the power board circuit.  Checked out the lid closed latch mechanism and it's grounding out properly when the circuit is closed.

I'm inclined to believe it's a problem withe the motherboard since I saw burn marks on the AC Adapter plug.

Any ideas out there. I could sure use the help. Thanks
