Question : Problem: Need XP Sound Driver for Asus M70VM Notebook
I'm trying to get XP 32-bit working Correctly on the new Asus M70VM Notebook. The computer ships with Vista only, and the Asus website has only Vista Drivers available for download. I have already installed the Microsoft UAA Drivers.
I've confirmed it uses newer Azalia compatible RealTek HD Audio hardware... but the current XP Drivers from RealTek do not work. I have also tried similar drivers for the Asus F8SA & F8SV Notebooks. At the moment, the device tree still reads: "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus".
Hardware ID is:
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10DE&D
EV_0006&SU
BSYS10DE10

A working solution was not found.
We simply went with Vista as the manufacturer had intended... and all was well. Not quite what our customer wanted.. but at least all the hardware is functioning as intended.
