Question : Problem: OfficeJet 7400 Drivers

Has anyone had a problem with the Drivers for this printer? Every time that I install them on a Sony Viao Laptop i have a problem with the IE settings.
The problem in IE is:
normally you can type www.google.com and it will go to the web site by adding http:// to the front of the address.
After the install of the drivers:
I can no longer type www.google.com I have to type http://www.google.com for it to go
I have checked all the registry settings and all the IE settings. I have reloaded the computer 3 times now. Thinking that it was a virus or malware. But this problem returns as soons as i install the HP software and will not go away until i reload the computer. I have tried to call HP support but they refuse to admit that it is a problem with their software and that I need to call microsoft. I ask them well then why does it work until I install your drivers? They do not have a responce to that question..
Please help I am getting very upset with this!
