Question : Problem: Flash Drive not writable

Hello,
I've been using the same flash drive for months and months now and have never had a problem with it using it on either Macs or PCs. But this morning I put it into a Mac and discovered that I was not able to write to it; somehow, the flash drive had become read-only and Mac OS wouldn't let me change the permissions. I don't have access to the Disk Utility so I was unable to format it on the Mac, but I did format it on the PC and am still experiencing the same problem. Any suggestions?
