Question : Problem: Why can't I play certain games on my hdtv through vga
Ok...so I purchased an RCA 37" LCD Flatscreen. I have been loving the VGA hookup that allows me to connect my pc and use it as a large monitor. I have had no problems in the past playing games on it until about a week ago. I've tried reinstalling drivers and modifying settings on my video card and nothing is working. I have an ATI Radeon X1650 512mb and can still play games on my 19" Acer monitor. I currently can play a disney game called "PURE" that has great graphics and performance. I am still unable to play games such as: Half Life 2, FEAR, Madden 08, Oblivion, Call of Duty 4, & Need For Speed: Pro Street. I have also tried updating my DirectX and had no luck. All I get is sound and a black screen. I am almost at my wit's end with this....

The specs don't tell me much.. could be the refresh rate.. Try 1024x768... like 60hz and see if you get a picture.. I know games like COD need good equipment.. Do you have a DVI connection? Could getg a DVI to HDMI converter.
