Question : Problem: TV Card not detected

My ATI TV Wonder 650 card has stopped working.  I turned off the machine, pulled the card then reset the card.  No luck.

AMD had me down load a program to perform diagnostics with the following results:

North and South Bridge Chipset Drivers Version=NOT DETECTED
North and South Bridge Chipset Drivers Date=NOT DETECTED

Their suggestion is to re-install Vista.  Is there a less drastic solution?

Answer : Problem: TV Card not detected

There's almost always a less drastic solution. The question is whether it will take more time to resolve the problem than it is worth. Also, it may be due to a cause, such as hardwar failure, which reinstalling vista will not resolve.

On the bright side, there are a few quick things you can check out that might help quickly solve the problem.

I have a few questions:
Was vista put on as a clean install?
How long did the tv card work under vista before it stopped working?
Is System Restore Running?
Does the card appear in Device Manager?
Also in Device Manager, are there any yellow question marks indicating devices which aren't working properly?
Have you recently installed any new programs or device drivers for it or any other hardware?

That's all I can think of right now but I will try to help out as much as I can if you can answer these questions.
