Question : Problem: Monitor "Input Not Supported"

My son has a 17'' HP Debranded Widescreen TFT LCD Monitor wSpkrs . It was working just fine until last night. He said he shut it down, came back later and started up his machine.  The monitor works until you get to Windows splash screen at which point it says "input type not supported".  I can get the monitor to work in Safemode?

His OS is Vista.

Answer : Problem: Monitor "Input Not Supported"

Start into VGA (not safe mode) and then change the display settings to what the monitor supports. use a refresh rate of 60Hz, not more.
